AEL Collegiate Essay Contest for U.S. Undergraduate Students

The Americanism Educational Leaders is currently accepting applications the AEL Collegiate Essay Contest. Eligible candidates should be currently attending undergraduate program at the U.S. college or university. The the Americanism Educational Leaders and Pepperdine University Libraries, the sponsor will provide $2,500 the winner. To apply, contestants must submit their essay no later than 31 August 2016.

Award Value
Three winners will be chosen, and they will get first prize of $2,500, second prize of $1,500 and third prize of $1,000 amount.

Level and Area of Studies
Undergraduate degree in any field.

Place of Study
In the United States of America.

Eligibility and Criteria
The  main requirement of this scholarship is that the candidates must be a current undergraduate college or university student.

Applicants’ Nationality
Only U.S. citizens are invited to apply.

Application Instruction
To apply, please submit an essay between 1,500 and 2,000 words in length, typed and double-spaced. This year essay prompt is:
Describe your understanding of American exceptionalism, and, drawing an example from current events, discuss how that example demonstrates American exceptionalism in global relations, freedom, and/or democracy.
