Hungry for Education Scholarship | Tom Joyner Foundation Scholarship, USA

Applications for the Hungry for Education Scholarship are now invited. The scholarship is exclusively open to students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Tom Joyner Foundation, the sponsor, provides $1,250 to each of the scholarship winners. To apply, entries must be received by December 1, 2016.

Scholarship Description
The Tom Joyner Foundation has partnered with Denny’s Corporation for the 4 year to support Denny’s Hungry for Education Scholarship Program. The scholarship is created for students attending select Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the country. There are 20 awards will be given.

Award Value
20 deserving students will be selected and each will receive $1,250 scholarship award.

Level and Area of Studies
College or university level in any subject available at the host university.

Place of Study
In the United States of America.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • Full time students enrolled in any fully certified HBCU as indicated as an official TJF – HBCU support institution, which can be found at
  • Students must be U.S. Citizens, in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 5 to 4.0
  • Students must agree to participate in the Program publicity offering and complete a release form, if requested
  • Previous winners are not eligible to be considered for a second opportunity

Applicants’ Nationality
Only the U.S citizens are invited to apply.
