IMB Post-doctoral Research Fellowship, Norway

The Institutt for medisinske basalfag (IMB) is currently accepting applications for the IMB Post-doctoral Research Fellowship. Eligible candidates should hold a PhD qualification in the area of cell biology, molecular biology or other related subject. The winning candidate will receive a range of salary including salary ranging from pay grade: 57 – 62 (NOK 483 700– 529 800). To apply, entries must be received by 20 December 2015.

Fellowship Description
One position as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow is available at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Department of Molecular Medicine. The position is associated with the research group of professor Anne Simonsen on the project “The role of selective autophagy in tumor suppression”. The project is financed by The Norwegian Cancer Society for a period of three years.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • Candidates must have a PhD equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in cell biology, molecular biology or equal. Successful candidates must have submitted their doctoral thesis prior to the application closing date.
  • We are looking for a motivated individual with the personal prerequisite to carry out the project. The candidate must be able to work independently, take initiatives and be responsible for own progress.
  • The successful candidate must have extensive experience from experimental laboratory work in biochemistry and molecular cell biology, such as cell transfection, genome editing and RNAi techniques, Western blot analysis, confocal microscopy, protein expression and interaction analysis.
  • Experience with methodology relevant for analysis of lipids and autophagy will be considered an advantage.
  • The applicant must speak and write English fluently
    Emphasis will be attributed to team-working and personal skills.
