Post Matric Scholarship for Minority Students in India

Each year, the applications for the Post Matric Scholarship are offered for those categorized as minority Indian students. Eligible students should be currently attending higher secondary school and college or university in India. The winning students will be awarded a range of benefits including a – maximum 10 months living allowances.

Scholarship Description
The Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities was announced in June, 2006. It provides that a post-matric scholarship scheme for meritorious students from minority communities would be implemented. The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority community so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.

Value and Tenure
Scholarship will be provided for the entire course. However, maintenance allowance will be given for a period not exceeding 10 months only in an academic year.

College or university level in all subjects.

Place of Study
The study will be taken in India.

Eligibility and Criteria
Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakh.

Only Indian Minority students are invited to apply.
