Rita Allen Fellowship Program in Science Communication, USA

The Rita Allen Foundation and WGBH Boston are glad to announcrle the Rita Allen Fellowship Program. The fellowship is open to early- to mid-career science media producers, journalists, or working scientists with a commitment to science communication. They must be authorized to work in the United States. The closing date of application is June 30, 2017.

Award Value
The winning fellow will receive a stipend of $82,000 plus benefits, for the year. He/she will live in or move to the Boston area and have office space at WGBH’s studios.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • Candidates for the fellowship will be early- to mid-career science media producers, journalists, or working scientists with a commitment to science communication.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US. The program is looking for candidates who are self-starters and can: (1) Assess the state of science communication in an area of focus or in multiple areas. (2) Research and write about their findings
  • Conduct personal investigations and projects that complement their assessments or focus on additional research areas.
