The Tawera Scholarship is currently applicable. This scholarship open to students who are currently pursuing undergraduate degree in business related field. This year, up to 30 awards available, each of those valued up to $10,000. To apply, the application package must be submitted no later than 7 April 2017.
Te Putea Whakatupu Trust, in partnership Māori Education Trust, is pleased to announce in 2011 the launch of a new scholarship – The Tawera Scholarship: Māori Business and Management Bachelor Scholarships. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support to up to 30 Māori enrolled in a business, commerce, or management degree at bachelor level.
Value and Tenure
The winners of this scholarship may expect to receive up to $10,000 which is tenable for one year.
Level and Area of Studies
Undergraduate level in the field of business, commerce, or management.
Place of Study
The study will be taken in New Zealand.
Eligibility and Criteria
The Tawera Scholarship is designed to help address Te Putea Whakatupu Trust’s strategic focus of lifting the level of Māori participation in middle and senior management capability in a range of industries, including fisheries.
Preference will be given to those students who: are in their last year or second to last year of study towards their bachelor degree; demonstrate a commitment to tikanga Māori and te reo Māori; demonstrate a commitment to Māori, iwi, and hapu economic development; have provden academic merit and; are interested in building personal skills and expertise to support Māori/iwi economic and social development.
