TEG Fellowship – Fellowship in Medical Statistic

African scholars are now invited to apply the TEG Postgraduate training fellowship in the area of Medical Statistic at the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (LSHTM). Selected fellows will receive an annual stipend valued up to £15,000 plus other benefits. To apply, the application package must be submitted no later than 13 April 2018.

Fellowship Description
The TEG Fellowship is sponsored by the UK Medical Research Council (MRC). This program is tenable for 2 years. For the first year the successful applicant will study for the MSc degree in LSHTM. This will be followed by a one-year professional attachment at one of the African centres associated with the research programme of the Tropical Epidemiology Group (TEG) at LSHTM. During the professional attachment, training Fellows will develop their statistical and research skills by working on studies with guidance from TEG staff.

The successful applicants may expect to receive benefits as follow: costs for fees, stipend (£15,000 per annum) and return air travel.

Eligibility and Criteria
To be eligible, you need to fulfill the criteria as follow:

  • be resident in and a national of a country in sub-Saharan Africa
  • have an excellent first degree majoring in mathematics, statistics or a related subject
  • have at least 1 year of work experience in medical statistics or epidemiology.

Applicants’ Nationality
This fellowship is targeted to those coming from sub-saharan Africa
