AJ Parker Memorial Scholarship Program in Australian

Applications for the AJ Parker Memorial Scholarship Program is now being accepted. Only Australian citizens are welcome to apply. They must be planning to enroll eligible undergraduate courses at Murdoch University. Entries are accepted by Monday 6th August, 2018.

Scholarship Description
Alan James (Jim) Parker was appointed as a foundation professor at Murdoch University in 1974, a post he held until his untimely death in 1982. Much of his work involved understanding and developing the science of disparate areas of chemistry. His research into non-aqueous hydrometallurgy and storage of electrical energy are today seen as novel and visionary. The AJ Parker Scholarship in Chemistry, Mineral Science or Science Education is available to students who have completed the WACE, or equivalent examination, since 2007.

Award Value
Payments will be made directly in to the successful recipient’s nominated bank account, in the following instalments:

  • $1,000 after the semester census date of Semester Two 2018; and
  • $1,000 after the semester census date of Semester One 2019.

Level and Area of Studies
Bachelor degree program of Chemistry and/or Mineral Science.

Place of Study
At Murdoch University in Australia.

Eligibility and Criteria
The main requirement of this scholarship is that candidates must be intending to enroll, or are you a first year student enrolled full-time in the Bachelor degree program of Chemistry and/or Mineral Science.

Applicants’ Nationality
Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
