The University of Alberta is pleased to invite applications for the Indigenous Careers Award. This program is intended to the citizens of Canada who pursue and complete post-secondary studies in degree programs leading to high-demand career outcomes in Alberta. Indigenous Careers Awards are designed to encourage Indigenous Albertans (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) to pursue and complete post-secondary studies in degree programs leading to high-demand career outcomes in Alberta. These scholarships are funded by the government of Alberta through Alberta Advanced Education, and are administered by the University of Alberta in conjunction with Alberta Student Aid.
The winning student will receive benefit of $4,000.
Level and Area of Studies
Undergraduate and graduate degree in one of the following areas of study (degree program or major/minor): Business, Education, Physical, Natural, or Applied Sciences (including Engineering, Science and any BSc in ALES) and Health Sciences (including BSc Kinesiology).
Place of Study
The study will be taken in Canada.
Eligibility and Criteria
- Be enrolled in one of the areas of study (degree program or major/minor) mentioned above.
- Have achieved satisfactory academic standing (admission to the University or 2.0 GPA)
- Be enrolled in at least 60% of a full-normal course load at the University of Albert
- Preference will be given to students in upper years of their programs but all eligible students are encouraged to apply
