Amy Lowell Poetry Travelling Scholarship is now open. This is a poetry contest which is available for Poet American birth. So, there is no need of school or college enrollment of participants. The winners will be granted approximately $60,500. Entries are accepted every year. The annual deadline is 15 October.
The American poet Amy Lowell died in 1925. Her will established an annual scholarship to support travel abroad for gifted American-born poets. The scholarship is administered by the Trustees under her will at the law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston, Massachusetts.
The 2020-2021 Scholarship award will be approximately $60,500, adjusted for inflation. If there are two winners, each will receive the full amount.

Amy Lowell Poetry Travelling Scholarship is open to any poet of American birth who is able and willing to spend one year outside the continent of North America. There is no age requirement, and there is no requirement that applicants be enrolled in a university or other education program. While many recent winners have been published poets, there is no requirement that applicants have previously published their work.

Two full copies of the application and attachments must be submitted with each entry. The paper copies of the application and attachments must be mailed. Emails or faxes will not be accepted.
