The Andrew S. Mathers Scholarship is available for either high school or college student. This is an annual essay scholarship competition. All participants must write Provide a 500-word minimum essay on the value of hard work and what it has taught you. The winner will receive $1, 000. The annual deadline is 1 September.
As an estate planning attorney and a father, I’ve seen the financial impact on families with the soaring costs of college. This annual scholarship is to help aid 1 winner that shows merit, grit, financial need, and good academic standing.

Eligibility and Requirement
This Andrew S. Mathers Scholarship is open to students attending both high school and college or university in the United States. All candidates are required to provide an essay on the given topic.
Scholarship applicants can either mail or email in their application. Please include all of the following with your application:
- Provide a 500-word minimum essay on the value of hard work and what it has taught you
- School transcripts
- Employment history
- Proof of financial need
