Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Essay Contest

Each year, the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) and Math for America sponsor an essay contest. Those who are pursuing undergraduate program or at Grades 6-8, Grades 9-12 are welcome to apply. To apply, candidates are required to write an essay responding the topic question below. The deadline is 31 January every year.

Scholarship Description
To increase awareness of women’s ongoing contributions to the mathematical sciences, the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) and Math for America are co-sponsoring an essay contest for biographies of contemporary women mathematicians and statisticians in academic, industrial, and government careers.

Eligibility and Criteria
All applicants are expected to fulfill all of the criteria as follow: should be students at Grades 6-8, Grades 9-12 and Undergraduate.

The U.S students may participate in.

Application Instruction
To apply, please write a-500 to 1000 words essay about woman currently working in a mathematical career.

Submission Deadline
Please anticipate the next deadline in January 31 each year.
