Beacon Scholarship for Rural America

Beacon Scholarship for Rural America is especially open to students reside in a rural area and meet low-income criteria. The scholarship is available bi-annually; Spring and Fall term. The winner will receive $1, 000. Applications are accepted by 31 December and 30 June.

Scholarship Description
Since 1980, Carrot-Top Industries, Inc. (Sponsor) has been a leading flag and patriotic products retailer priding ourselves on a dedication to patriotism and community growth across America. Now, we want to help low-income students living in rural areas with their college endeavors. 

Award Value
$1,000 each Spring and Fall semester.

Level and Area of Studies
College-bound graduating high school seniors, current college students, or adult learners in any field.

Place of study
At any institution in USA.

Eligibility and Requirement
Applicants must be college-bound graduating high school seniors, current college students or adult learners with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (high school or college) who are planning to enroll in an accredited college program. Applicants must also reside in a rural area and meet low-income criteria outlined in the link below.

Application Instruction
Must provide an electronic copy of all documents below:

  • An essay of approximately 750 words responding to the prompt: “How have you shown patriotism through your community involvement?”
  • A copy of your most recent high school or college transcript involvement?”
  • Two letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, counselors, other academic professionals or colleagues
  • A current photo or school photo for marketing purposes

Submission Deadline
31 December and 30 June.
