CIFOR-USAID Fellowships for Indonesian Students

Applications for the CIFOR-USAID Fellowship are now invited. This program is exclusively open to Indonesian students who are intending to pursue master’s degree in forestry and the related studies. Up to 20 fully-funded fellowships will granted to the scholarship winners. To apply, entries must be received by 30 November 2015.

Fellowship Description
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) is funding master’s degree opportunities for 20 highly qualified Indonesian candidates to study forestry conservation, natural resources management and related disciplines in the United States. The program will be administered by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR). CIFOR will match qualified candidates with participating US university partners, and will assist candidates with various aspects of the university application process.

Award Value
The winning fellows will receive award that covers cover tuition fees, living and travel expenses.

Level and Area of Studies
Master degree in forestry conservation, natural resources management and related disciplines.

Place of Study
In the Unites States of America.

Eligibility and Criteria
To be eligible, students must satisfy the given criteria as follow:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant disciplines including but not limited to: forestry, agro forestry, biology, soil conservation and management, wildlife management and biodiversity conservation, forest economics, business administration, anthropology, sociology and gender studies
  • Secure a score on the TOEFL English language exam as required by the admitting partner university
  • Secure a score on the US Graduate Record Exam (GRE) as required by the admitting partner university
  • Prior work experience in forestry, natural resources management and related fields desirable
