Applications for the IDRC Doctoral Research Awards are being invited. Both Canadian and developing countries’ students are welcome to apply. He or she will be conducting 3 – 12 month PhD research in Canada. Up to twenty CA$20,000 awards will be given. The application deadline is 31 May 2017.
Value and Tenure
Approximately 20 grants of a maximum of CA$20,000 each. Those are tenable for 3 – 12 months.
Level and Area of Studies
Doctoral research in the area that fit within the priorities of the Agriculture and Environment, Inclusive Economies, or Technology and Innovation program areas as set out in this document.
Place of Study
The research will be taken in Canada.
Eligibility and Criteria
This call is open to Canadians, permanent residents of Canada, and citizens of developing countries pursuing doctoral studies at a Canadian university. Other eligibility requirements include:
- Your research proposal must be approved by your thesis supervisor. Please provide proof.
- Your proposed field research must take place in one or more developing countries, be conducted for a doctoral dissertation, and correspond to IDRC thematic priorities.
- You must provide evidence of affiliation with an institution or organization in the developing region(s) in which the research will take place.
- You must have completed coursework and passed comprehensive exams before taking up the award.
Canadian and the citizens of the developing countries are welcome to apply.
