Institut de Recherche Interdisciplinaire en Biologie Humaine et Moléculaire: IRIBHM is glad to invite applications for the IRIBHM Scholarship Program. The Scholarship is open to non – Belgium citizens who will be pursuing PhD program in the field of life science at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. The are at least 2 PhD scholarships are available. Entries are accepted no later than 22 April 2018.
About the Sponsor
The IRIBHM, the sponsor of the IRIBHM Scholarship, is a research institute of the Faculty of Medicine of the “Université libre de Bruxelles, Université d’Europe” (ULB). It was founded in the nineteen sixties by J.E. Dumont and A. Ermans with the aim to apply an interdisciplinary approach to the study of endocrinology and, in particular, the pathophysiology of the thyroid gland. Over the years, the Institute has thrived into a multiplicity of groups, totaling 150 people, with diversifying research interests, all related to the study of the transduction of biological signals. The Institute is staffed by researchers with diverse training, including physicians, physicists, (bio)chemists and biologists. The activities of the IRIBHM are taking place on two different campuses of the ULB: Campus Erasme in the suburb of Brussels and Campus Gosselies where it is part of the Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et Médicale (IBMM). The IRIBHM has privileged interactions with the Laboratory of Medical Genetics and the Laboratory of Neurophysiology.
The winners of the IRIBHM Scholarship will receive benefit of travel expenses are reimbursed and free accommodation.

Eligibility and Criteria
In order to be eligible for the IRIBHM Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
- Please note that only diplomas and degrees equivalent to EU Master Degree awarded by a higher education institution are acceptable, which include project work summarized in a written “small thesis”. Candidates who have not yet obtained their degree will be considered if they can convincingly argue that they will finish their studies within 2018 academic year.
- Please note that this program is restricted to non-Belgians, currently not living in Belgium. Applicants must have obtained an academic degree or diploma for maximum 5 years and this period shall include the ongoing academic year.
Non-Belgium students may apply the IRIBHM Scholarship Program.
