James Edward Oglethorpe (JEO) Competition in Japan

The Oglethorpe University is currently accepting applications for the James Edward Oglethorpe (JEO) Competition. This program is only available for Georgia students only. Up to four full-tuition scholarships will be awarded following the JEO competition at Scholarship Weekend. You may choose to participate on Saturday, January 26, 2019, or Saturday, February 16, 2019.

Award Value
A four-year full tuition scholarship, valued at over $165,000.

Level and Area of Studies
Honors course in any available subject.

Place of Study
The study will be taken in Japan.

Eligibility and Criteria
The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Applicants with the first degree from a recognized university and academically talented, socioeconomic status, and are not engaged at work at all or have been engaged at work but couldn’t able to cover their study expenses will be eligible for the scholarship.
  • Three primary activities will help determine the winners of the JEO scholarship. These three components (outlined below) seek to identify students who are effective communicators, emerging leaders, and dynamic community participants.
