Contest Description
L. Ron Hubbard proudly invites amateur writers to participate in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest. Entries for this contest are accepted every three months each year. Submissions must be short stories or novelettes (up to 17,000 words) in the genre of science fiction or fantasy.

Award Value
Each of the contest winners will earn $1,000, $750 and $500, or an additional annual grand prize worth $5,000.

Eligibility and Criteria
The Contest is open only to those who have not professionally published a novel or short novel, or more than one novelette, or more than three short stories, in any medium. Professional publication is deemed to be payment of at least six cents per word, and at least 5,000 copies, or 5,000 hits.
