Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship Program

Applications for the Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship are currently being accepted. Only Singapore citizens are welcome to apply. Winners will receive benefit of a one-off sum of S$10,000 and an annual allowance.

Scholarship Description
The Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) Scholarship is synonymous with both prestige and a willingness to serve Singapore. It marks Singapore’s continuous effort to recognise outstanding individuals with the aptitude and inclination to contribute to our society. With contributions from the public, the LKY Scholarship Fund was set up in 1991 in honour of Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Award Value
Scholarship recipients will receive a one-off sum of S$10,000 and an annual allowance of:

  • S$50,000 for private sector awardees; or
  • S$10,000 for public sector awardees, if they are concurrently sponsored by their agencies.

Level and Area of Studies
Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship recipients can pursue postgraduate studies overseas or locally to develop their potential as leaders in their respective fields. There are no restrictions on the course of study.

Place of Study
The study will be taken in Singapore.

Eligibility and Criteria
Applicants, who must be Singapore citizens, will be assessed holistically. This includes their academic achievements and track record of leadership and service (e.g. volunteer work, social enterprise, contributions to cultural, scientific and/or academic communities etc.) within or beyond their profession. There are no restrictions on the course of study.

Only Singapore citizens are invited to apply.
