The Angus McIntosh Centre for Historical Linguistics is offering a fully-funded PhD studentship. The McIntosh-Patterson Scholar’s primary research focus can be any aspect of historical linguistics that is within the expertise of the staff of Linguistics and English Language at Edinburgh. Applications are now accepted.
This studentship provides full tuition fees (UK, EU or Overseas) and an annual stipend of £14,000 for three years.

Eligibility and Criteria
- The successful applicant will have a very good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and ideally will have, or will be studying for, a Masters Degree (or equivalent).
- Applicants must be entering the first year of the PhD programme in September of the year of application.
- International applicants are welcome to apply for this studentship.
