Mister Rogers Memorial Scholarship Program

The applications for the Mister Rogers Memorial Scholarship are currently being accepted. The scholarship is available for both master and PhD students enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States. The best candidates will be selected to receive the award. The closing date of application is 31 January 2017.

Scholarship Description
The Television Academy Foundation is offering Mister Rogers Memorial Scholarship Program for rising seniors, graduating seniors and graduate students (Masters or PhDs). The program supports and encourages the students to pursue a career in children’s media and further the values and principles of Fred Rogers’ work. Applicant must have the ultimate goal of working in children’s media.The mission is to preserve and celebrate the history of television while educating and inspiring those who will shape its future.

Award Value
Two winners will receive up to $5,000 scholarship award.

Level and Area of Studies
Graduate degree (Master and PhD) in any combination of at least two of the following fields:
– Early childhood education
– Child development/child psychology
– Film/television production
– Music
– Animation
– Production of cross-platform entertainment

Place of Study
In the United States of America.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • The Mister Rogers Memorial Scholarship is open only to rising seniors, graduating seniors (must be continuing directly to graduate school) and graduate students (Masters or Ph.D.) of accredited colleges or universities within the United States.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a commitment – through coursework or experience – to any combination of at least two of the fields mentioned above.
