The V P Kanitkar Memorial Scholarship is now open. This scholarship for students undertaking either the full-time MA Social Anthropology or the MA Religions of Asia & Africa at SOAS, University of London. The scholarship recipients will be awarded up to £16,000. The completed application form must be submitted no later than 20 March 2015.
This year, SOAS University of London provides two awards of V P Kanitkar Memorial Scholarships for post-graduate students undertaking either the full-time MA Social Anthropology or the MA Religions of Asia & Africa. The assessment of your application will be based on the information provided in your scholarship application and in your on-line application for admission. Selectors will be looking at the degree results and also at academic references, statement and other relevant information. Also, evidence on how your dissertation will be on Hinduism will be taken into consideration.
Each scholarship covers the cost of tuition fees and provides maintenance of £16,000.

MA Social Anthropology with a dissertation in Hindu Culture in South Asia (Department of Anthropology & Sociology) or the MA Religions of Asia & Africa with a dissertation in Hinduism (Department of the Study of Religions).

Eligibility and Criteria
To be eligible, the applicants are expected to have an admission offer at the eligible MA Program. In addition, he or she should normally possess or expect to be awarded a First Class Honours Degree or equivalent. Applicants with upper second class level may also apply, but will not be given preference. English proficiency is also compulsory for this scholarship.
There is no nationality restriction.
