Wadsworth African Fellowship Programmes

Wadsworth African Fellowships are supported by Wenner – Gren Foundation. The grant is open to African students undertaking study leading to a Ph.D. at a South African university that can provide them with international-level training in anthropology (including biological anthropology and archaeology). Entries are accepted by December 15 every year.

Award Value
The winning students will receive $17,500 that can be used towards travel, living expenses, tuition, student fees, insurance, books, research expenses, and any other relevant categories of expenditure while studying at the Host institution.

Ph.D in Anthropology.

Place of Study
South African University.

Eligibility and Criteria
The Wadsworth African Fellowships are intended to provide support for African students undertaking study leading to a Ph.D. at a South African university that can provide them with international-level training in anthropology (including biological anthropology and archaeology). Currently applications to the University of Witwatersrand or The University of Cape Town are given priority.
